Google aims to prevent spam
Google has announced the launch of two new features for its messaging app on Android, to help users get rid of the inconvenience, and to verify that message senders are real people.

The U.S. tech giant Google launched its first feature, Spam Detection, in some countries last January, but is now also available in the United States.

If the messaging app detects a suspicious spam, it will display a warning that the user can confirm is annoying or not. This feature will be activated automatically, and users will receive a notification when it becomes available.

Users will also be able to report spam at any time, as well as block conversations if those spam messages don't stop.

If the user's spam detection feature is available, Google will temporarily store phone numbers that send messages but are not on the contact list, in order to make it easier to identify spammers, but the company says that phone numbers will not be linked to the names of individual users.
In addition to detecting spam, Google is also launching the Verified SMS feature for messages that the user sends to certain business activities. When a user sends a message to a trusted business, they will see the name of the business, logo, and verification badge in the message chain.

Verified SMS will be progressively available in a number of countries, including Brazil, Canada, France, India, Mexico, the Philippines, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
